Specialized Protection Solutions was established to deliver protective services with the planning discipline, professionalism and discretion that clients are entitled to expect — and do not always receive.
Our position
Why SPS exists.
The industry is easy to enter. It is therefore easy to appoint a provider, and difficult to know what you have appointed until something goes wrong.
SPS was formed around the parts of the work clients cannot see and rarely ask about — assessment, advance work, briefing, record-keeping, registration.
Approach
How an engagement runs.
The sequence rarely changes, whether the requirement is a single airport transfer or a standing residential arrangement.
Understand
A confidential discussion about the client, their movements, their environment and what they are actually concerned about. Nothing is proposed at this stage.
Assess
A written assessment of exposure, likelihood and consequence — covering people, property, routine and travel as relevant.
Plan
A protective plan proportionate to the assessment: posture, personnel, movement, medical routing, communications and escalation.
Deliver & review
Deployment with defined reporting, followed by after-action review. Plans that are never reviewed become assumptions.

Discretion as a default
We do not publish client names, locations, movements or procedures. If a client's protective arrangement can be inferred from our marketing, we have failed them. That principle applies to this website.
People who are properly appointed
Registration, competency, vetting and conditions of service are administrative work whose consequences the client inherits. We treat it as part of the service, not overhead.
Plans in writing
Assessments, advance reports, journey plans and after-action reports are documented. A client should be able to hand our work to their board, insurer or family office without translation.
One point of accountability
When a requirement draws on more than one company in the group, the client still deals with one team and one point of contact.

SPS is led by practitioners with operational backgrounds in close protection, security risk management, firearms and medical training.

Chief Executive Officer
Founder of SPS. Background in close protection, security risk management and risk project management across South Africa and the wider region. Firearms responsible person for the Gauteng operation.
Lourens Willemse
Chief Operating Officer
Leads operational delivery and the Western Cape footprint from Cape Town — protective operations, compliance, training partnerships and coordination with the other companies in the group. Firearms responsible person for the Cape Town operation.
Anzelle van Rooyen
Chief Financial Officer
Leads the financial and commercial side of the business, and works across SPS and Specialized Medical Solutions on national growth, specialised training programmes and standardisation of how work is delivered.
